Spring Has Sprung PDF Print E-mail

The tress are budding and the flowers are blooming.  What a beautiful picture.

Our flower bed that we made last year is overflowing with new growth and I am so excited to see how many flowers we do end up with.  We have bought some sunflower seeds and we are planning on planting the at the side of the house by the front porch.  My Dad always told me that Grandma & Grandpa Bowman had some at the home in Florida.  I remember the pictures, so I am readlly looking forward to having some of our own.  Angela has been asking to plant them.

It is hard to believe that she only has about 5 weeks of school left of school before summer break.  Daddy and I have an appointment for visit the three 1sr grade classes so we can help decide which teacher she will have next year.  I think she will have a hard time leaving Mrs France.  She really loves being in her class.  She has grown up so fast, I can't believe she will be in first grade this fall.

We went to the program at the church that ended Angela's youth group for the summer. The kids did a great job and Angela brought hone a certificate. She is really going to miss going on Wednesday nights.  She will still have Sunday's though.

Daddy has been working really hard with Angela on what the school has classified as "sight words'  She is doing very well at sounding out words.  I am looking forward to working with her this summer and hope to have her reading some before school starts this fall.

Angela loves to go on vacation with her Grandma Pam and Aunt Becky.  Justin didn't go last year so it was just the girls.  Angela is so excited about going she has been packing to get ready to go on vacation.  We keep trying to tell her that Grandma will not let her take everything.  I think it is cute to watch her.  She has every bag and bucket she can find full of toys and and has them all lined up ready to go.

Well enough for now.

Happy Easter!! PDF Print E-mail
Written by Mommy

What a wonderful Easter.

Angela was on spring break all last week.  Mommy took Thursday and Friday off so we could enjoy the beautiful weather and time together.  Thursday was Karate, so it was really great to watch her.  She is doing so well.  She gets to move up to the regular classes this fall, so it will get a little harder, but I have seen a big improvement.  I am really proud of her.  She also got to spend the night with her Grandma Barb, who she does not get to see as often now.  Grandma's job is very demanding.  I am so glad they had time together.  Friday afternoon we went and had a picnic at a park up near the airport.  I am so glad we fond that one.  Nadia is a little girl that goes to her school, but is not in the same class.  They get to ride the bus together, so when Angela found her at the park, she was so happy tp have someone to play with.  From there, she went to spend the night with Grandma Pam and Papa.  She was pretty tired by the time we got there, so I am sure Grandma had her hands full for a while.  She got home about 5:30.  We went to Walmart and got her a new bike helmet because she has grow out of the one she used last year.

On Easter morning she woke us up at about 6:30 to tell us the Easter Bunny had been there.  I was able to get her back to sleep long enough for me to take a shower and get ready for church.  She woke up and we headed downstairs to get her breakfast.  When she hit the landing at the top of the stairs, she stopped dead and just looked.  Her mouth was hanging open, when she slowly turned to me and said" Mommy, the Easter Bunny got me a new bike".  She was so excited.  After church, Easter egg hunting and a couple trips around the block with the new bike, we headed to Aunt Becky's for Easter dinner.  We took two cars so we could take her bike for her.  After we ate the wonderful meal that Grandma Pam and Aunt Becky prepared, they headed out to the back yard for the Easter egg hunt.  Then Grandma Pam, Grandma Barb, cousin Jacey and I headed out so Angela could ride her bike.  Aunt Becky has very big blocks and great sidewalks for bike riding.  She did so well.  We then headed back for a little rest and some more food.

The Easter bunny left Angela another Easter basket at Grandma Pam's.  She got a couple of really cute summer dresses for church, some new slippers, some new bath toys, a stuffed Chick that peeps.  Grandma Barb also got her a couple of baskets as well with so many things. You would of thought it was Christmas again with all the gifts she got.  We had to paint her finger nails and two nails last night before bed.

Today was her last day of spring break, so iDaddy took her around the block this afternoon and a visit to Grandma Pam's and Pap's.  They had a good day. Mommy took her for a bike ride down to the park, around the walking track and back home.  It was our after dinner work out.  I am looking forward to getting out in the evenings with her and walking while she rides her bike.  I hope to get her comfortable enough to start working on getting the training wheels off by the end of the year.  We will see.

Well back to our normal weekly routine tomorrow, so no more extra sleep for Mommy for a while.  She has about 9 more weeks of school.  I have a feeling it will go faster then we expect it to.

I will update again soon with a report on how the rest of the week goes.
